THE THING Restricted Trailer Debuts
Universal and IGN have released a new restricted trailer for the sci-fi thriller The Thing.
Set in the days prior to the events of John Carpenter‘s 1982 classic, the prequel centers on a team of Norwegian scientists working in Antarctica. After the group unearths a deadly alien creature from a ship buried in ice, they must band together to survive.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) takes the leading role as Kate, a young Paleontologist who is brought to Antarctica to study the strange organism. Also set to make appearances are Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Eric Christian Olsen (NCIS: Los Angeles) and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost).
The Thing, directed by Dutch filmmaker Matthijs van Heijningen, will invade theaters on October 14th, 2011.
