Venice 2013: LA BELLE VIE by Jean Denizot

La belle vie Jean Denizot‘s feature debut La Belle Vie will have it’s world premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival, which runs from 28 August 28th to 7 September 7th. Today, we’re here to share the first image and to give you the most important details from the film which is based on a true story that shocked France. We definitely recommend you to take a look. Denizot directed this real-life drama from a script he co-wrote with Frédérique Moreau and Catherine Paillé, which revolves around two brothers and their father who spent ten years on the run, hiding along France’s autoroutes. Ten years before, when their father lost custody, the boys didn’t hesitate to follow him, to stay with the man they loved so much, blaming their mother, the justice system, and everybody else looking for them along the way. Or, if you want to read the official synopsis: “Sylvain and Pierre have been on the run with their father for 10 years because of a custody battle. They have been forced to hide out often in the middle of nowhere and move hastily when the authorities discover their whereabouts. The brothers are now road-weary and eager to enjoy their teenage years. When Sylvain meets Gilda, his first crush, he begins to question his father’s definition of a good life…” La Belle Vie stars Zacharie Chasseriaud as Sylvain, Jules Pelissier as Pierre, Nicolas Bouchaud as Yves and Solène Rigot as Gilda. This sure sounds promising, hope we’ll soon have a clip to share. In the meanwhile – let us know what you think about the story and stay tuned for more! La belle vie
