Watch out, we have a 5-minute long video in here! As much as I hate Kristen Bell and the way she salutes to all Veronica Mars‘ fans (heeeey Marshmallows, blah!), I have to admit that they did a pretty good job with that kickstarter thing, and as you’re about to see – they even have a trailer now! Even worse – Jamie Lee Curtis is (somehow) involved in the project…
Described as an upcoming American neo-noir mystery comedy-drama, the movie stars Bell as the titular Mars, a young student who, growing up with a detective for a father, moonlit as a private investigator.
At least that’s what we had a chance to watch (in those series that ran for three seasons). But as you see, all of the sudden she’s a lawyer! Ten years out of Neptune High, and we first see her in a job interview with Lee Curtis?
Director Rob Thomas, who co-wrote the script with Diane Ruggiero, gave a little explanation:
The good thing for me is that I think the story I wanted to tell is the one that the fans want to hear… Veronica has not worked as a P.I. since season three. Part of the movie is her getting pulled into this life she’s left behind.
Whatever. Beside Bell, the rest of Veronica Mars cast also includes Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III, Ryan Hansen, Tina Majorino and Chris Lowell, and the movie hits theaters in early 2014.
