The very first details have emerged online regarding the upcoming World of Warcraft movie adaption titled Warcraft. The 2015 film is set to begin filming in Vancouver early next year, yet we barely know anything about it outside of the setting and who’s directing.
Luckily, director Duncan Jones paid a visit to BlizzCon 2013 over the weekend and revealed some concept art from his upcoming approaching the world of Warcraft.
Director Jones and Oscar winning special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer (Life of Pi) reportedly revealed that the film will tell the story of the first contact between humans and Orcs, focusing on the characters Anduin Lothar and Durotan.
It’s about both sides, you can be a hero whatever side you are on…. It’s been hard to find an actor who looks like Durotan. Every time I meet an actor I just try to squish his face.
He confirmed that the movie will feature a mixture of live-action footage and CGI, with the Orcs created using a mix of motion capture and animation.
Colin Farrell and Paula Patton have been rumored to star Until we get more details to share, you can check out the concept art from the film that was presented at the convention, which features Draenor, the home of the Orcs; Dalaran, the city of magic; Ironforge, city of dwarves; and Stormwind, where the Alliance is seated.
