Warner Bros. Won Dan Fogelman Pitch, Tom Cruise Attached As Lead
Dan Fogelman is quite busy guy these days. Or, should we say – popular? Well, guess what, Warner Bros. beat out Fox, Paramount, MGM, and other studios for yet untitled pitch written by screenwriter Fogelman that already has Tom Cruise attached to star.
Ok, this is not such a surprise, since we all know that the studio paid $2.5 million for Fogelman’s Crazy, Stupid Love, but now, according to the Deadline “deal was just under $2 million upfront against just higher than $3 million if the movie gets made.” Impressive!
At this moment not much is known about the whole thing, although we learned that the movie will follow “…a man who has never made a mistake in his life and becomes a politician. His first mistake – an affair – causes his perfectly constructed life to fall apart and he returns home to rebuild.”
Definitely sounds like a perfect job for Cruise, although we all know he’s quite busy with the upcoming Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol which is scheduled for release December 16.
On the other hand, we’re also keeping an eye on that adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages that already has great cast on board.
So, what will happen with Fogelman’s newest project? We’ll have to wait and see, so stay tuned!
