Wrath of the Titans’ Jonathan Liebesman Takes on Ninja Turtles Reboot

‘Lead the way, Toots!’ Or if you rather like ‘Cowabunga, dudes, ‘a brand new movie adaptation of famous comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is currently underway. Michael Bay and company have hired Jonathan Liebesman to direct Renaissance artists – Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello – and, through the teachings of a rat-turned-sensei named Splinter.

This new version of TMNT is certainly looking to be a bit less kiddie than those PG-rated 1990 movie from New Line or Warner Bros. another go in 2007 because Liebesman directed Battle: Los Angeles, and his next project is Wrath of the Titans and Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes are the production company behind horror remakes such A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. However, the newest live-action movie was said to be going back to the gritty roots of the comics.

The script is being penned by Ghost Protocol writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, but the plot is being kept secret.

It has to be noted that Brett Ratner is also in consideration to take on the franchise.

Liebesman’s latest movie Wrath of the Titans will be released on March 30th 2012 in 3D and IMAX 3D.
