Four new TV spots for Clint Eastwood‘s biopic of J Edgar Hoover starring Leonardo DiCaprio, have arrived online.
Written by Dustin Lance Black – who won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for 2008’s Milk, J. Edgar promises to be an interesting, even if somewhat bland, look into the life of one of of the more controversial figures of the 20th Century. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost fifty years, J. Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.
Josh Lucas (“American Pscyho,” “A Beautiful Mind”), Naomi Watts (“King Kong,” “Mulholland Dr.”), Armie Hammer (“The Social Network,” “Blackout”), Lea Thompson (“Back to the Future,” “Caroline in the City”), Ed Westwick (“Gossip Girl,” “Children of Men”) and Dermot Mulroney (“My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “About Schmidt”) co-star in the film, which opens in limited theaters on November 9th, 2011 before expanding wide on the 11th.
