Carrie Fisher Confirmed For STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

Nick Martin March 6, 2013 Add a Comment
Carrie Fisher Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, has confirmed she will return for Star Wars: Episode VII. Known to sci-fi fans as Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, the twin sister of Luke Skywalker, the 56-year-old actress will reprise her role in the forthcoming J.J. Abrams-directed film. Below is the direct transcript from the conversation between the aptly named Palm Beach Illustrated and Fisher:
Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you'll reprise the role of Princess Leia? Yes. What do you think Princess Leia is like today? Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks' home (laughs). I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.
Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker are also in negotiations to rejoin the galaxy far, far away. The question is whether or not Luke will be running a Jedi academy and what will be the status of Han and Leia's relationship. So maybe Michael Arndt who has been penning a script knows the answer to this. Star Wars: Episode VII hits theaters in 2015 at the earliest. Star Wars - Movie Poster
