Ashton Kutcher’s Steve Jobs Biopic Delayed

Jobs Pushed Back

Ashton Kutcher‘s take on Steve Jobs will not come out on April 19th, 2013 as had been expected since the Apple company celebrates its 37th anniversary that day.

Open Road Films, which picked up the film in January before it closed the Sundance Film Festival, has yet to set a new release date. The distrib of the film reportedly requires more time to market the film.

The indie Steve Jobs biopic previously titled jOBS, the distrib has also made the wise decision of omitting the Apple-speak and simply retitling it Jobs.

Partially shot in the Palo Alto, Calif., garage that was Apple's birthplace, Joshua Michael Stern directed Jobs from the script written by Matthew Whitley.

The script details the major moments and focuses on characters that influenced Jobs from 1971 through 2001. Jobs also stars Josh Gad (1600 Penn), who plays Steve Wozniak along with Dermot Mulroney, Lukas Haas, J.K. Simmons and Matthew Modine.

Fellow Apple co-founder Wozniak was critical of film, after seeing its debut at the Sundance and had decided to help with Sony's Steve Jobs film with Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin serving as the scribe.

We must await the new official date for Kutcher's take on Jobs, despite the fact that the only wide release scheduled for April 19th is Oblivion with Tom Cruise.
