Andrew Garfield fans are going to love this news!
Garfield is set to star in the big-screen adaptation of
Tawni O'Dell's bestselling novel
Back Roads, and he's going to have great company, because
Jennifer Garner and
Marica Gay Harden are also attached to the upcoming murder mystery movie!
Adrian Lyne is set to direct the movie from a screenplay he co-wrote with the book's author Tawni O'Dell. Here's the
Back Roads novel synopsis:
“In a small Pennsylvania town depressed by coal mine closings, a young man of 19 finds himself thrust into the role of parent. Harley has become the guardian of his three younger sisters as the result of their mother going to jail for the shooting death of their father. Each sibling finds his or her own way of coping with this family tragedy.
During his regular visits with a psychotherapist Harley finds some comfort while at the same time feeling disdain for this woman. He is able to satisfy his youthful urges by beginning a series of sexual encounters with an older woman whose daughter is a playmate of his youngest sister.”
Garfield will play above mentioned young man forced to care for his three young sisters when their mother is sent behind bars for killing her abusive husband, and at this moment we know that Garner will play a neighbour who becomes romantically involved with Andrew's character. Gay Harden, on the other hand, will play his court-appointed therapist.
At the end, let me just mention that the number of high-profile actresses are also being considered for the roles of Andrew's sisters, so make sure you stay tuned for more updates!
