Well, we're not surprised, we're just here to confirm the whole thing!
Anne Hathaway has joined the cast of the upcoming
Tom Hooper‘s adaptation of
Les Miserables, so it looks that we're having an A-cast on board guys!
As you probably remember from our earlier reports,
Hugh Jackman and
Russell Crowe are already on board for the whole thing, and I'm sure they're quite happy their sweet Fantine is coming to join them!
Yeah, Fantine, because that's exactly who Anne Hathaway is going to play.
As for the above mentioned guys, Crowe is on board to play Inspector Javert while Jackman is set to star as Jean Valjean.
Hooper's project is based on the classic
Victor Hugo novel and stage play, only this time we have
William Nicholson (Gladiator) in charge for the screenplay.
On the other hand, we also learned that Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil will be in charge for the music. Sounds serious?
Sensational, dramatic, packed with rich excitement and filled with the sweep and violence of human passions, Les Miserables is not only superb adventure but a powerful social document. The story of how the convict Jean-Valjean struggled to escape his past and reaffirm his humanity, in a world brutalized by poverty and ignorance, became the gospel of the poor and the oppressed.
Les Miserables opens on December 25th, 2012.
