Jennifer Lopez has recently appeared in the Netflix science fiction thriller ‘Atlas', which the spectators have responded to quite stabilizing. The movie's rating on the Rotten Tomatoes is 11% and the audience's rating is 3.7 out of 10 points.
Lopez stars as Atlas Shepherd, a reclusive and eccentric data analyst who is a genius, but doesn't seem to like humans very much, and has a firm belief that artificial intelligence is something negative. She has to partner with an AI called Smith (voiced by Gregory James Cohan) with a mission which doing her job as a robot which is eliminating all robots who harm humans she has to capture a rebel robot named Harlan (Simu Liu) who turns out to be her creator and has a secret connection with her.
Some arguments which can be brought against Atlas are as follows; Some people pointed out that Atlas is an imitation of various movies such as Avatar, Blade Runner and The Terminator. Just like the previous movies, it has been called as tonally disjointed wherein many have appreciated Lopez's acting skills but criticized the cliché dialogues, weak narratives, and below-average action sequences.
As a work of art, Atlas may not be a critical hit, but it is seen to be a fun way of exploring the theme of human versus artificial intelligence. The best employed technique of animation interacts between two characters, the hero in the role of George Lopez and artificial intelligence Smith.
