Director
Christopher Nolan revealed the official title to his highly-anticipated follow-up to the wildly successful
The Dark Knight. The third Batman movie in Nolan's trilogy is officially named
The Dark Knight Rises. Even bigger news for some may be that Nolan convinced Warner Bros. to avoid shooting the film in 3D, opting for high-definition and IMAX cameras.
Nolan is refusing to give up more information about the plot or characters involved in the blockbuster – but he has told the Los Angeles Times not to expect one Batman villain. He said that the film's villain won't be The Riddler.
“We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones”
The new film stars
Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and
Tom Hardy.
The Dark Knight Rises will begin shooting in New Orleans in April 2011 and comes to theaters July 20th, 2012.
