It's coming back to do it again and again… When the alien Gitai invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many raw recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to find himself reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the B*tch of War. Bill Paxton Enlists in ALL YOU NEED IS KILL
The Titanic star Bill Paxton has begun negotiations to join the cast of Doug Liman‘s All You Need Is Kill.
Paxton would reportedly play the commander to Tom Cruise, who is playing the lead role (of course), which would be the first time the two have ever worked together in a film in their thirty-year careers. The script describes his character as a ‘living piece of leather.'
The sci-fi actioner based on a Japanese graphic-novel written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka sees Cruise as a soldier in a war against aliens who relives the day of his death over and over, in Groundhog Day meet Source Code fashion. His repeated battle experience hardens his resolve and makes him a better soldier in hopes of changing his fate.
All You Need Is Kill currently has a 2013 release date – actress Emily Blunt is also along for the ride.
Paxton who recently appeared in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire can next be seen in the action film 2 Guns along Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, and James Marsden.
Here's an official description of the novel.
