Blake Lively in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES?

Blake Lively Ok, we have the latest rumor and it goes like this – Blake Lively has been offered the lead role of Elizabeth in the upcoming Craig Gillespie‘s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies project. Sounds good, or would you prefer to see some other name in our title? Well, I guess we do have a little bit surprising news in here, especially since we know that the same role has been offered to Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Scarlett Johansson and Emma Stone before Lively even showed up. I really have no idea what’s wrong with this role when above mentioned (much bigger names than Gossip Girl star, you must admit) turned it down. We all know that Seth Grahame-Smith adapted the screenplay from his own novel of the same name, and we also know that the movie will follow the courtship between Jane Austen’s famous lovers Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy, but with one major twist: the idyllic Victorian setting of their courtship is overrun with blood-sucking, brain-eating undead zombies. And, at the end, let us once again repeat the description of the whole thing: “This may be the most wacky by-product of the busy Jane Austen fan-fiction industry – at least among the spin-offs and pastiches that have made it into print. In what’s described as an “expanded edition” of Pride and Prejudice, 85 percent of the original text has been preserved but fused with “ultraviolent zombie mayhem.” For more than 50 years, we learn, England has been overrun by zombies, prompting people like the Bennets to send their daughters away to China for training in the art of deadly combat, and prompting others, like Lady Catherine de Bourgh, to employ armies of ninjas. Added to the familiar plot turns that bring Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy together is the fact that both are highly skilled killers, gleefully slaying zombies on the way to their happy ending. Is nothing sacred?” So, any thoughts about Lively and her possible involvement in the whole thing?
