Broadway, here they come!
Bobby Cannavale is going to star next to previously announced
Al Pacino in the upcoming
Glengarry Glen Ross revival of
David Mamet‘s 1984 Pulitzer Prize winning drama.
When you have Pacino and Broadway in one report – it already sounds huge, and when you add Cannavale as Ricky Roma, hey – then it's definitely huge with big “H”!
I guess that the most interesting part of the story is that Cannavale is actually on board to play hot-shot broker Ricky Roma, which is the same role that Pacino portrayed in the 1992 screen version.
On the other hand, Pacino will this time play fading former sales ace Shelley “The Machine” Levene.
And now, a few words about the great team behind Glengarry Glen Ross. Tony Award-winning director,
Daniel Sullivan is on board to direct the whole thing, while Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Jam Theatricals who produced the 2005 Tony Award winning revival are in charge for producing it.
Glengarry Glen Rose will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 12th, with previews beginning on Tuesday, October 16th and an official opening date set for Sunday, November 11th at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
