Cannes 2013: A TOUCH OF SIN by Jia Zhangke In Competition

A Touch of Sin Another movie that has been selected to compete at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival is Jia Zhangke's drama titled A Touch of Sin (Tian Zhu Ding). Described as an explosive new film from the award-winning director of 24 City and Platform, this project is the first Chinese-language film to compete for the Palme d'Or in three years. Head inside to find more details, and check out some great images… A Touch of Sin Jia Zhangke directed the movie from his own script which revolves around four threads set in vastly different geographical and social milieus across modern-day China, ranging from the bustling southern metropolis of Guangzhou to the more rural townships in Zhangke's home province of Shanxi. A Touch of Sin Or, if you prefer the official synopsis:
An angry miner revolts against the corruption of his village leaders. A migrant worker at home for the New Year discovers the infinite possibilities a firearm can offer. A pretty receptionist at a sauna is pushed to the limit when a rich client assaults her. A young factory worker goes from job to job trying to improve his lot in life. Four people, four different provinces. A reflection on contemporary China: an economic giant slowly being eroded by violence.
A Touch of Sin A Touch of Sin cast includes Zhao Tao, Jiang Wu, Wang Baoqiang and Luo Lanshan. Let us know what you think about this project, and don't forget – the 66th annual Cannes Film Festival runs from 15 to 26 May 2013. A Touch of Sin
