‘Carry-On’ Trailer: Taron Egerton’s Thrilling Return to Action

Netflix's upcoming thriller 'Carry-On' features Taron Egerton as a TSA agent navigating a high-stakes Christmas Eve crisis. Here's a sneak peek at the action-packed film that's set to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Carry-On, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, known for action hits like The Shallows and Jungle Cruise. This action thriller marks Taron Egerton's much-anticipated return to the genre since 2018's Robin Hood. In Carry-On, Egerton plays Ethan Kopek, a TSA agent working a holiday shift at the airport, when a dangerous twist comes his way. Jason Bateman co-stars as a mysterious traveler who forces Kopek to let a deadly carry-on package slip through the security scanner. With the flight and lives of many at risk, Egerton's character faces an impossible moral dilemma.

The film also features a strong supporting cast, including Logan Marshall-Green, Sofia Carson, Danielle Deadwyler, and Dean Norris, adding depth to this high-tension story. Collet-Serra's direction is expected to bring his signature intensity to the screen, utilizing a modest $47 million budget to craft a gripping, contained thriller.

Slated for a December 13th release on Netflix, Carry-On promises to be a pulse-pounding ride, heightened by its holiday backdrop. The choice to set the film during Christmas adds a layer of urgency and irony, contrasting the festive season with the escalating tension of a potential disaster.

The Carry-On trailer showcases Collet-Serra's knack for creating suspenseful action, and it's exciting to see Egerton stepping back into a physically demanding role. The film's premise—balancing a routine setting with life-or-death stakes—has the potential to deliver a tightly-wound thriller. The holiday release date adds a timely edge that could resonate with audiences seeking adrenaline-fueled entertainment during the season.

What are your thoughts on thrillers set during the holidays? Do you think the festive timing adds to the suspense or distracts from the action?
