Channing Tatum is in negotiations to star in the upcoming actioner
White House Down at Sony Pictures.
Roland Emmerich‘s latest action thriller,
White House Down is being likened to a Die Hard set at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and concerns a sudden paramilitary takeover of the White House.
James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man) wrote the pricey spec script, which Sony acquired in late March for $3 million and is planning a November 1st, 2013 release.
The flick would see Tatum starring as a secret service agent who gets tasked with saving the President of the United States.
Coming off The Vow, Haywire and 21 Jump Street, Channing Tatum will next be seen in Magic Mike and G.I. Joe: Retaliation arriving on the same day this June, and is currently shooting The Bitter Pill.
