The Dark Knight Rises scenes will be shot in Pittsburgh, this summer.
The London-born director Christopher Nolan said:
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. … We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman.”
Previous speculation that The Dark Knight Rises would shoot in New Orleans didn't come true. The Oscar nominated director was noticed on Smithfield Street in Pittsburgh, along with his team, supposedly overlooking a map; location scouting.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the filming could be in the city for four to six weeks shooting in downtown and the surrounding area.
In addition Marion Cotillard might have confirmed her casting in The Dark Knight Rises, telling The Independent:
I have a project for the summer. Different thing that I don't wanna talk about.”
There is as well report that the staff has scouted Kedleston Hall, a lush mansion built in around 1760 in Derbyshire, England. The location is possibly the new Wayne Manor.
Besides, to the returning Christian Bale, who won an Academy Award for his role in The Fighter the third Batman movie will introduce Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, who came for Warrior, and Anne Hathaway, who filmed Love & Other Drugs here.
Nolan will direct The Dark Knight Rises from a screenplay he done with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by him and David S. Goyer.
Christopher Nolan also will produce the feature along his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven – Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute.
The film will hit theaters nationwide July 20, 2012.
