Lionsgate has released the official teaser trailer for their upcoming Conan the Barbarian remake, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. It was just announced that Momoa Stargate: Atlantis) will receive CinemaCon‘s Rising Star of 2011 Award for his work in Conan the Barbarian in 3D! The event takes place March 28-31 in Las Vegas.
A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.
The film is made in 3-D under the direction of Marcus Nispel. Additional cast include Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, Ron Perlman, Rose McGowan and Said Taghmaoui.
Conan the Barbarian will be in theaters August 19, 2011.
