If you are into indie films with explicit themes and flavors that can twist the conventional norms and structures of movie classes, then ‘Crumb Catcher' should be on your list this summer. Directed by Chris Skotchdopole it is a home invasion madness that is planned to be released on the 19th of July, 2024 in selected theaters of USA. As quirky as it sounds, “Crumb Catcher” is going to be an unapologetic dark comedy with some extraordinary twists, uncomfortable moments, and suburban realness.

It features Rigo Garay and Ella Rae Peck, who play the roles of Shane and Leah after their wedding – the couple's honeymoon takes a sinister turn. Leah, a character employed at the publishing company of the publisher of Shane's first novel, already has the strains of family abuse and the expectations of a new marriage. Their plans go awry when two strange individuals – John (John Speredakos) and Rose (Lorraine Farris) – interrupt the couple's seclusion with a stupid blackmailing plan turning the house into a war zone.

John, a maniacally optimistic inventor, introduces his latest creation: the Crumb Catcher, an invention that he claims will change the course of diners by giving people a way to signal to the waitstaff to go away. In a bid to get funds for the invention, John, assisted by his bitter wife Rose, decides to keep both of them captive to help him get the money he needs for his invention. This leads to a comedy of very awkward, strange and tense events that will leave the viewers agape with their eyes wide open.

“Crumb Catcher” debuted at the annual Fantastic Fest in 2023 and is often described as a delightfully low budget, cult classic. It also visited notable fests such as Woodstock and the Brooklyn Horror Film Fests that cemented its standing as a festival darling. Audiences and some critics have suggested the movie is funny, bizarre, uncomfortable, and an absolute cringe-fest for all the best reasons and is easily among the best indie movies to watch.

The creative team that has been associated with ‘Crumb Catcher' is equally talented and gifted. The screenplay prepared by Skotchdopole derives from the script developed in collaboration with Larry Fessenden and Rigo Garay. The film is produced by Brian Devine, Larry Fessenden, Chadd Harbold, Chris Skotchdopole, James W. Skotchdopole and Bonnie Timmersmani.

With its striking directorial debut from Chris Skotchdopole and a cast that delivers unforgettable performances, “Crumb Catcher” is a film that should be on every movie enthusiast's radar. Mark your calendars for July 19th, 2024, and prepare for a thrilling, laugh-out-loud journey into the world of dark comedy. For more details, visit Music Box Films' official site.
