Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH Gets Cain and Abel

Darren Aronofsky With production gearing up on Darren Aronofsky‘s Biblical Noah, he continues to pad out his already impressive cast with more characters to help tell the tale of the man who built the famous but not-so-logical Ark. Now, two famous siblings from Genesis will be making an appearance. The director has cast the largely unknown Icelandic actors Johannes Haukur Johannesson (Reykjavik-Rotterdam) and Arnar Dan as Cain and Abel respectively in the film. In case you didn't know, Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve. Cain killed his brother after he grew jealous when God chose Abel's offerings over his own. He was given a mark (on the forehead, I think), warning others of God's vengeance that awaited those who commited murder, and he was forced to wander the Earth in punishment. I'm puzzled as to why is their story in the film, since it's happening quite a while before Noah was even born, so I'm not sure how this factors in. ‘Holy' visions while on shroom trip? Anyway, Jóhannesson and Dan aren't expected to have many lines, so we'd guess their appearance will be brief anyway. The two of them join Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Ray Winstone, Kevin Durand, Martin Csokas and Dakota Goyo (Real Steel) as young Noah. The movie will premiere on March 28th, 2014.
