Ryan Reynolds, who played the wisecracking mercenary character in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and is slated to reprise it, has a window in his schedule after wrapping Martin Campbell's “Green Lantern” this summer. The story is expected to stay true to the mythology of “Deadpool” as Reynolds is a huge fan and protector of the property
Reese and Wernick have previously written a draft for the “Venom” spin-off, which is another Marvel property. They have also been working on the “Zombieland” sequel.
