Marvel Studios recently treated fans in London to an exclusive 35-minute preview of the much-anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine movie. The reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with many fans taking to social media to express their excitement. As if the buzz wasn't enough, Ryan Reynolds added to the anticipation by discussing the film's R-rating in an interview with Variety.
Reynolds humorously remarked, “So many kids have seen ‘Deadpool' and ‘Deadpool 2.' My own kids have seen it. And they came damaged.” He explained that the R-rating isn't arbitrary; it's integral to Deadpool's character. “The character is very crass. His brain is like a half-eaten omelet inside the skull of a 7-year-old,” Reynolds added. He jokingly advised against bringing “a 114-year-old, because that person will not leave alive. Anyone in a diaper.”
The film, set to hit theaters on July 26th, picks up six years after the events of Deadpool 2. Wade Wilson, no longer donning his uniform, has settled into a quiet life as a used car salesman. However, his peaceful existence is interrupted when the Time Variance Authority (TVA) recruits him for a multiverse time-jumping mission. This adventure pairs him with none other than Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman.
The star-studded cast also includes Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic reprising their roles as Vanessa and Colossus, respectively, and Matthew Macfadyen as a TVA Agent. Fans will also see Leslie Uggams return as Blind Al, along with Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio. Additionally, Jennifer Garner is set to make a surprise return as Elektra.
This unique combination of humor, action, and beloved characters promises a thrilling ride. With Reynolds and Jackman leading the charge, Deadpool & Wolverine is poised to be a summer blockbuster that fans won't want to miss. The film's release on July 26th is eagerly awaited, and judging by early fan reactions, it's set to deliver on its high expectations.
