DreamWorks picks up romantic comedy ‘Shared Fare’
DreamWorks has picked up the romantic comedy spec “Shared Fare” from writer Stacey Harman. Brian Robbins, who is considering directing the film, is producing via his Varsity Pictures banner with Benderspink’s Chris Bender and J.C. Spink.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is known that the idea is based on a true experience had by Benderspink executive Langley Perer, who ended up dating a guy she split a cab with on a short trip.
Holly Bario is overseeing the project at DreamWorks.
Harman co-wrote “Jingle Belles” for Happy Madison as well as a feature project for Lynda Obst at Paramount titled “Best Friends Forever.” She also has co-written TV pilots. “Fare” represents her first solo feature sale.
She is repped by UTA and Benderspink.
