Female Lead Shortlist for Marvel’s CAPTAIN AMERICA Sequel
Hi there, we’ve got a possible casting update for Captain America sequel, currently subtitled The Winter Soldier, set to begin later this year.
With Antony Mackie lined up to play Sam Wilson, aka Falcon the attention has moved on to recruiting the female lead. According to The New York Post there are three actresses in the running for the role: Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air), Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) and Imogen Poots (Fright Night).
Up to now Captain America: The Winter Soldier stars Chris Evans, Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan and it will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

The Walt Disney Studios has announced a release date for Marvel Studios’ sequel to the blockbuster Captain America: The First Avenger on April 4, 2014. The second installment will pick-up where the highly anticipated Marvel’s The Avengers (May 4, 2012) leaves off, as Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world.Hm, well, it will be difficult to cast Hayley Atwell as she is from the World War 2 era and we are in present day. On the other hand, the similarity in looks to the comic book character shouldn’t have an impact on who gets the role So, who would you like to see play the role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier assuming the role is Sharon Carter?
