Fernando Meirelles to Direct NEMESIS Aristotle Onassis Biopic
We already had a chance to hear that a biopic about Aristotle Onassis is coming, so don't get so surprised about this news.
Fernando Meirelles, Brazilian director responsible for that 360 movie we're all talking about these days, is now officially on board to direct Nemesis movie, which will center on the well-known Greek tycoon and second husband of Jackie Kennedy.
Nemesis is based on the book written by Peter Adams, and according to the latest reports, Braulio Mantovani (who wrote the script for Meirelles' City of God) will be in charge for the book adaptation.
The movie will follow the life of Onassis from his poverty-stricken upbringing to his colossal rise and dominance of the world's merchant marine industry. Of course, the whole thing will also include his affair with opera singer Maria Callas, marriage to Jackie Kennedy, and the airplane death of his son and heir Alexander Onassis' airplane death which left him heartbroken.
Nemesis has a budget of $30 million, and they should start filming this October in Croatia, and for locations, Croatia will double for Greece, Budapest for Buenos Aires, and London will be disguised as New York.
As usual, we'll keep an eye on it. Stay tuned for more!
