PACIFIC RIM Image 14 The final, or more precisely put, the final, final full-length trailer for Guillermo del Toro's massive monster vs. robot movie, Pacific Rim has been released. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have definitely raised the ante when it comes to this promotional campaign. However, names of the giant monsters and robots like ‘Kaiju' and ‘Jaeger' are more common than the names of humans of Pacific Rim like ‘Stacker Pentecost' and ‘Hannibal Chau.' Luckily, latest trailer gives us a more complete answer to that criticism. Huh! Charlie Hunnam's Raleigh Becket is featured in most parts of the video (with Idris Elba as the speech-ifying bossman, of course), which still includes battle scenes between Jaegers and Kaijus in all its epic glory. Assorted random folks like Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi and Ron Perlman slotting into supporting roles, while also included featurette and a viral video offer interesting tidbits about Kaijus. Del Toro's blockbuster homerun will hit 3D, IMAX 3D and 2D theatres on July 12th, 2013. Check out Pacific Rim final trailer: [jwplayer mediaid=”161851″] ‘Destroy All Kaijus' featurette: [jwplayer mediaid=”161852″] ‘Kaiju Remedies' viral video: [jwplayer mediaid=”161853″] Here's the official synopsis:
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
