It's Friday…13th…so, it's time for a good horror vampire movie! Ok, maybe if that vampire is Colin Farrell!
However, DreamWorks has released the first trailer for Fright Night 3D remake directed by Craig Gillespie. The first official poster for the film has been revealed as well.
Gillespie will introduce his take on this cult classic movie, nearly 26 years to the day after the Tom Holland original comedy-horror about a teenager who discovers his new next-door neighbor is a vampire premiered in 1985.
But here's the Fright Night remake synopsis:
Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he's running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend.
But trouble arrives when Jerry Dandrige (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there's something not quite right – but everyone, including Charlie's mom (Toni Collette), doesn't notice.
After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.
Gillespie directed from the script written by Marti Noxon.
Fright Night, which also stars Imogen Poots as Charley's new girlfriend, Christipher Mintz-Plasse as Evil Ed as his estranged best friend (in this remake) and David Tennant as Peter Vincent, has a summer release on August 19, 2011.
