Joseph Gordon-Levitt has just made an appearance at the WonderCon 2012 panel for his upcoming sci-fi/actioner
Looper, directed by
Rian Johnson.
Gordon-Levitt took on what he called ‘the most transformative' role of his career, portraying a time-traveling hit man, and he plays a younger version of
Bruce Willis' character.
Gordon-Levitt and Johnson previously collaborated on Johnson's first film, the 2006 high school noir Brick. In fact, Johnson eventually wrote the film with Gordon-Levitt specifically in mind.
When the mob wants someone killed, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a ‘looper' – a hired gun, like Joe (Gordon-Levitt) – takes care of the rest. Joe is getting rich and things are going smoothly until the day the mob decides to ‘close the loop,' sending back Joe's future self (Willis) for assassination.
Willis plays the older version of Gordon-Levitt with
Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo and
Noah Segan co-star in the film, which is due in theaters on September 28th, 2012.
Check out the images and the interview below – The Dark Knight Rises thesp was undergoing three hours of make-up a day to modify his face thanks to the efforts of the makeup artist, Kazuhiro Tsuji.
