Netflix has just dropped the first teaser trailer for its exciting new animated series, Jentry Chau vs the Underworld, and it's already shaping up to be one of the must-watch releases of 2024. Created by Echo Wu, who is making her series debut, this animated adventure is brought to life by the team at Titmouse (known for hits like Star Trek: Lower Decks). With a stellar voice cast and a killer premise, Jentry Chau vs the Underworld promises a unique blend of horror, action, and humor.

The series follows Jentry Chau, voiced by the incomparable Ali Wong, a Chinese-American teen living in small-town Texas. Jentry's life is suddenly flipped upside down when she discovers that a demon king is after her suppressed supernatural powers. It's up to Jentry, alongside her weapons-savvy great-aunt and a jiangshi (a Chinese hopping vampire), to battle creatures from the underworld while dealing with the chaos of high school life. The plot cleverly balances supernatural elements with the relatable struggles of growing up, giving viewers a story that's both intense and heartfelt.

Echo Wu's involvement, both as the creator and director, brings a fresh vision to the series, which has the potential to stand out in Netflix's ever-growing lineup of animated content. With the show premiering on December 5, 2024, Jentry Chau vs the Underworld has a lot of buzz, especially with names like Bowen Yang, Lucy Liu, and Jimmy O. Yang rounding out the voice cast. Expect wild action, quirky humor, and a whole host of monstrous foes.
