First Poster for Steven Spielberg’s LINCOLN
DreamWorks Studios just sent over the official poster for Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln, which sees Daniel Day-Lewis take on the role as the one-and-only Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States.
Spielberg has obviously put the entire focus on two-time Academy Award® winner Day-Lewis transformative performance in the movie's first poster.
The screenplay for this revealing drama was written by Tony Kushner, based on Pulitzer Prize-winner Doris Kearns Goodwin's biography of Lincoln, ‘Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln'. Actually, the movie chronicles the President's time in office between 1861 and 1865 as he dealt with personal demons and politics during the Civil War.
The all-star cast also features Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, David Oyelowo, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace, and Jared Harris.
While we still haven't seen a trailer or any footage, hopefully, this poster signals that we're about to get a teaser for the film which finished shooting last year. Disney has announced that Lincoln will debut in limited theaters starting on November 9th, before expanding wider on the 16th.
