GAME OF THRONES Emilia Clarke Set For TERMINATOR: GENESIS

Emilia Clarke has won the role of Sarah Connor in the upcoming fifth installment of the long-running franchise, which may be titled Terminator: Genesis

emilia-clarke-terminator:genesis Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has won the role of Sarah Connor in the upcoming fifth installment of the long-running franchise, which may be titled Terminator: Genesis. ‘The Mother of All Dragons’ beat out Brie Larson (Short Term 12), who was the other top contender for this coveted role. Linda Hamilton made Sarah Connor the most compelling character in the James Cameron‘s first two films in the series. Clarke will re-team with director Alan Taylor, who has worked with her in the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones.’ He’s directing from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. Since the 24-year-old actress is playing the mother to a 44-year-old Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), it’s possible that John could go back in time to save his mother, or since the ‘trip to the future’ is reportedly involved in the plot, which would more probably suggest that Connor is going to be the one time traveling this time around. The reboot is due out July 1st, 2015, meaning that production will have to start up in the first half of next year. In addition to the Clarkes, Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to reprise his role as the title cyborg. Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy) is reportedly also up for the role of Kyle Reese, the character originally portrayed by Michael Biehn. Nicholas Hoult and Boyd Holbrook are being looked at for the same role as well. Stay tuned.
