Yeah, Crooked House! We already wrote about this project, so you know that Death at a Funeral helmer, Neil LaBute will be in charge for directing an upcoming adaptation of Agatha Cristie‘s well-known novel, right?
But, what you (still) don't know is that Julie Andrews, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode and Gabriel Byrne have all signed to star in it!
Adapted by Gosford Park scribe Julian Fellowes and Tim Rose Price, Crooked House follows the murder of a multimillionaire, whose eccentric family all have reasons to kill him. The investigating detective must determine whether a young female family member is the murderer or the next victim.
Thanks to Variety we know that “the story has a couple of fresh sides to it that I didn't remember from Christie's work. There's a love story, which didn't feature strongly in many of her books, so that seemed very different to me and fresh…”
That's exactly what LaBute revealed in an interview, and added: “Plus it's quite morally ambiguous, which also appealed to me….”
As usual, we're interested in more details about this project, so we'll definitely keep an eye on it.
Until some new info arrive, let us mention that we're talking about the $20 million production project that is scheduled to shoot this summer in the U.K.
I’ll be keeping my eye on this one.
I love anything with Matthew Goode in it.
