Two Mothers (aka Perfect Mothers, with
Naomi Watts and
Robin Wright) is due out April 3rd, 2013 in France, confirmed to
Allocine that her next film will be a big screen version of
Posy Simmonds graphic novel,
Gemma Bovery.
While Fontaine was kind of ‘superstitious' I guess in that she didn't like to talk about the casting, French actor
Fabrice Luchini revealed that he'll be starring with Arterton, who he refers to as a ‘British atomic bomb'.
The story of an English couple who comes to live in Normandy is told in flashback, detailing the tragicomic last few months in the life of the titular character, an English expatriate. The setting is contemporary and is an overt reimagining of Gustave Flaubert's Madame Bovary, so perhaps it will be a bit of fun for those looking to shake up the literary canon.
Shooting kicks off this summer, so we should see the film some time in 2014.

Tamara Drewe, adapted on the big screen by
Stephen Frears in 2010 with
Gemma Arterton in the lead role.
Ex-Bond girl Arterton was recently back in fine butt-kicking form as witch killer Gretel in a 3D animated comedy-action movie based on the famous fairytale. Witch Hunters star will next be seen this June in
Neil Jordan‘s vampire drama,
Byzantium.
