Ridley Scott's highly anticipated sequel to his 2000 classic, “Gladiator,” is finally on the horizon. Paramount Pictures has just premiered the official first poster for “Gladiator II,” stirring excitement among fans. But that's not all – the film's first trailer is set to drop tomorrow, promising a glimpse into the epic that awaits.
The sequel stars Paul Mescal as a grown-up Lucius, the son of Lucilla, played by Connie Nielsen, who reprises her role. Joining them is Pedro Pascal, taking on the role of a conflicted general, adding his unique flair to the ensemble. Denzel Washington steps into the shoes of a former gladiator with a grudge, maneuvering behind the scenes for his own mysterious purposes.
Joseph Quinn portrays the bloodthirsty tyrant Emperor Geta, with Fred Hechinger as his meeker brother. The film boasts an impressive supporting cast, including Djimon Hounsou, Matt Lucas, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah, May Calamawy, Tim McInnerny, and Derek Jacobi, ensuring a diverse and dynamic range of performances.
Scripted by David Scarpa, “Gladiator II” is a $300 million production, reflecting its grand scale and ambitious vision. The film is set to hit cinemas internationally starting November 15th, with a U.S. release following on November 22nd.
