Get Ready for New Sci-Fi TV Series ATLANTIS
Get ready for another sci-fi TV series because Atlantis is coming! We've just learned that BBC America will co-produce this new so-called thrilling fantasy drama, which is set to premiere as part of Supernatural Saturday in Fall 2013.
What can we expect? Well, some legendary heroes and mythical creatures, at least that's the promise. Check out the official announcement and find more details about the show!
Created by Howard Overman, Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps, Atlantis brings to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends re-imagined for a new generation. Or, if you prefer the official synopsis:
The city of Atlantis is a mysterious, ancient place; a world of bull leaping, of snake haired goddesses and of palaces so vast it was said they were built by giants. It's into this strange, compelling realm that the young Jason arrives and an amazing adventure begins, bringing to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends re-imagined in the series.
According to creator and executive producer Murphy:
“This ambitious new series will see us push production values to the limit as we endeavor to bring the epic world of Atlantis to life. By combining state-of-the-art technology with timeless filmmaking techniques, we want every episode to have the star quality of a Hollywood movie.”
As for the cast – we have nothing to worry about. It includes Mark Addy, Jemima Rooper, Juliet Stevenson, Sarah Parish, Robert Emms, Aiysha Hart and Jack Donnelly.
Atlantis is currently filming in Wales and Morocco, and as we mentioned at the beginning, thirteen hour-long episodes have been ordered for Fall 2013.
We'll keep an eye on it – make sure you stay tuned for more updates!
