THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL; New Cast & Plot Details

Nick Martin March 28, 2013 Add a Comment
Grand Budapest Hotel-Set Photo Fox Searchlight has acquired worldwide rights to Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom follow-up The Grand Budapest Hotel, which recently wrapped production in Berlin, with an eye to releasing it either in 2014 or late this year. The distributor also revealed the complete cast, which is a starry one, including the additions of Tom Wilkinson and Tony Revolori (Shameless). Ralph Fiennes takes the lead, with Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Saoirse Ronan, Mathieu Amalric, Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Harvey Keitel, Jeff Goldblum, Bob Balaban and F. Murray Abraham. Along with the news come the new plot details as follows:
The Grand Budapest Hotel tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.
Since Fox Searchlight only has a Black Nativity, the comedy Baggage Claim and a thriller Panda Eyes in their fall slate, keep your fingers crossed for that late 2013 release and check out the first look of the cast on set. Tom Wilkinson
