Guy Pearce is in final talks to join the cast of
Iron Man 3 for Marvel Studios and director
Shane Black.
Pearce is locking down a deal to take the role of the geneticist Aldrich Killian, creator of the Extremis technology and the man who sells it on to terrorists before (Tony Stark –
Robert Downey Jr. adopts the technology after that)

Dr. Killian, a key role in
Warren Ellis' Extremis storyline, is the person who steals a dangerous amount of the Extremis serum, which will most likely lead to the release of the nanotech virus plot that
Ben Kingsley's villain is also involved in.
Ellis' six-issue storyline Extremis is which the third movie somewhat being based on.
The film is slated to begin production next month in North Carolina and will hit theaters on May 3rd, 2013.
Sooner rather than later the cast will fill up, but this dark role in the Marvel Universe seems pretty well suited for Pearce.
And so it should be said that the Iron Man 3 movie stars
Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, and
Ben Kingsley.
Stay tuned as more information on Iron Man 3 becomes available.
Meanwhile, Pierce's Lawless will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
