Hannibal fans have nothing to worry about – we've learned that the show has been renewed for a second season! And you already know what that means: more
Mads Mikkelsen and more
Hugh Dancy!
Ok, let's be honest, the ratings haven't been huge, but folks from NBC say they are many great stories still to be told…
So, you already know that Hannibal currently airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC, and according to the latest reports, NBC has now ordered 13-episodes for Season 2, which will air “no earlier than midseason”.
Created by
Bryan Fuller and based on the character from the Thomas Harris novel “Red Dragon”, the series focuse on the budding relationship between FBI special investigator Will Graham (played by Dancy) and Dr. Hannibal Lecter (played by Mikkelsen), a forensic psychiatrist destined to become Graham's most cunning enemy.
And although the ratings haven't been huge, reviews for Hannibal have been generally positive. Or, as Fuller recently explained:
“I know that we are a cost-efficient show so we're not hard to pick up. That's a nice way of saying we're a bargain show! Hannibal was really well-produced, we have a fantastic team and our crew in Toronto was just knocking it out of the park.”
On the other hand, NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said:
“We're so proud of Bryan's vision for a show that is richly textured, psychologically complex, and very compelling.”
We're definitely in for a second season, what about you?
