‘Ichi‘ from director Fumihiko Sori and writer Kan Shimosawa is based on the ‘Zatoichi‘ cult.
It is a re-imagining of the long running, Zatoichi series of blind swordsman films with the lead character recreated as a young woman (Haruka Ayase).

Ayase plays a blind woman who roams about town with her shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese guitar), but she has exceptional sword skills with which she fights off yakuza and other villains.
