The international trailer for Red Lights, written and directed by Rodrigo Cortés (Contestant, Buried), has just been released. The film stars Sigourney Weaver as Margaret Matheson, a respectable psychologist who collaborates with fellow skeptic Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy) on an investigation to demonstrate that world-renowned practitioner of the psychic arts, Simon Silver (Robert De Niro), is a fraud.
The film also Elizabeth Olsen, Joely Richardson, Karen David and Toby Jones.
“Red Lights” starts out from the experiences of two rationalist scientists who dissect phenomena from the metapsychic world, and the clash of forces with a world famous psychic they bring about. The past and the present of each the protagonists contain still unrevealed shadows, setting in train a dark story of growing tension, full of unexpected twists and turns.
According to Twitch, Millennium Entertainment acquired the United States distribution rights for a respectable sum of $4 million.
No U.S. release date for this one yet, Red Lights will premiere in Spain on March 2nd, 2012.
