Jason Momoa is set to star in the Sundance Channel's upcoming drama
The Red Road, previously known as “The Descendents”.
What definitely sounds promising is that some seriously good team stands behind the six-episode series.
Aaron Guzikowski is set to write the script, while Sarah Condon is on board to produce the project. Head inside to find more details…
Described as a hard-hitting drama, The Red Road centers on a weathered sheriff who struggles to keep his family together.
It's not going to be an easy job, because he also has to keep a balance between two clashing communities: the folks in the small town in which he grew up and those in the neighboring Ramapo Mountains.
At this moment we know that Momoa will play Philip, a Ramapo-Indian brimming with menace, charisma and hypnotic self-confidence.
Thanks to THR we have even more details: Philip attended high school with Harold, (now a police officer), and his wife Jean until his supposed involvement in the death of the latter's twin brother forced him to drop out and flee the state. He's now been sent back to town by his crime-lord father to establish a new base of operations for vice and mayhem.
Julianne Nicholson is also set to star as the above mentioned Jean.
The Red Road is exec produced by Guzikowski, Condon and Bridget Carpenter, who will also serve as showrunner.
