John Malkovich has replaced
John C. Reilly in the adaptation of Wildstorm/DC Comics' miniseries “
Red.”
Malkovich joining a cast that includes
Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox and
James Remar.
“Red” is the tale of a retired black-ops agent (Willis) who must contend with younger, more high-tech assassins who show up to kill him. Malkovich will be play a contemporary of Willis' who joins in his plan to kills those sent to kill him.
Directed by
Robert Schwentke (Time Traveller's Wife), the film was written by
Erich and
Jon Hoeber.
“Red” is scheduled to hit theaters on October 22, 2010 and principal photography begins this week in Toronto.
