Johnny Depp Eyed For Wally Pfister’s TRANSCENDENCE
Earlier this year it was reported that Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister had been hired to direct an untitled project written by newcomer Jack Paglen.
Now comes word that The Lone Ranger's Johnny Depp is in talks to star in the feature directorial debut of Pfister, now having a title – Transcendence.
Since Pfister has done seven films with Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas, including The Dark Knight Rises and Memento, it's no surprise they are serving as executive producers on the Transcendence project.
The plotline is being kept heavily under wraps. However, THR's Borys Kit tweets that the story is described as 2001 meets Inception and ‘is about the creation of a malevolent computer program.'
As for Pfister, who recently completed The Dark Knight Rises, he states:
