Jonathan Liebesman To Direct Clash of the Titans 2
Jonathan Liebesman (2006's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Battle: Los Angeles) is set to direct Clash of the Titans 2, after French director Louis Leterrier decided not to return for the sequel.
Liebesman had been in negotiations to direct a sequel to 2010's Clash of the Titans this whole summer. According to Heat Vision, money was the main factor for delaying the deal.
The first movie, a remake of the 1981 original, became a worldwide hit for Warners, grossing more than $491 million, inspite of many negative reviews, from both critics and the general public.
Now, this project could be a real challenge for Liebesman to put things at the right place.
So, studio's plan now is to shoot the film in 3D, instead of converting to 3-D like they did with the first movie.
Also, Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton are expected to return for Clash of the Titans 2 and with a good script we can probably expect another one blockbuster and this time from new director.
Greg Berlanti (Green Lantern), Dan Mazeau (The Flash, Jonny Quest) and David Leslie Johnson (Red Riding Hood) worked together on the treatment, with Mazeau and Johnson now writing the script.
Clash of the Titans 2 is currently set to shoot early next year.
