Rumors surrounding
Star Wars: Episode VII continue to swirl on the web. The latest comes from the inimitable
El Mayimbe from
Latino-Review, who believes
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is in talks to star in
J.J. Abrams' new take on latest installment of the
Star Wars franchise.
Irish actor and model
Rhys Meyers who appeared in Abrams' big screen directorial debut,
Mission: Impossible III is more well-known for his lead part in ‘The Tudors,' which earned multiple awards and four seasons on Showtime (Man of Steel leading man
Henry Cavill also stars).
There's no information of what role Meyers could potentially be playing in
Star Wars: Episode VII, now a Walt
Disney Studios production. You shouldn't expect confirmation of this one any time soon.
Star Wars returns to theaters by 2015 and begins filming in early 2014 at the latest. Original-cast trio of
Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and
Harrison Ford are definitely a part of the next chapter of the
Star Wars saga.
Meyers' most recent movie role is that of a supporting role in the Glenn Close star vehicle
Albert Nobbs, and the lead opposite
John Travolta in the critical and box-office misfire
From Paris with Love. The actor next stars in NBC's upcoming ‘Dracula' show.
Would you like to see him playing the son of either Luke or Han and Leia, or he's playing the galaxy's resident new bad guy?
