Car-thief brothers? Ok, this could be interesting. Especially now when we have Karl Urban and Ben Barnes on board for the upcoming Marseilles-set actioner Overdrive.
The whole thing comes from director Antonio Negret, and of course, it's not hard to guess that we're talking about a story which was written by 2 Fast 2 Furious scribes Derek Haas and Michael Brandt.
Overdrive will center on adventurous siblings who find more trouble than they are looking for in the South of France.
Those siblings are Urban and Barnes, although, some famous names like Alex Pettyfer, Matthew Goode and Garrett Hedlund were all attached at various points during development.
And, just for a record, Emilia Clarke from HBO's Game of Thrones is in negotiations for the lead female role, as well.
According to THR, the movie sprang from a trip Haas and Brandt took overseas in November 2008, when they were invited by the French government to tour the country for ten days as part of a Hollywood outreach program called France: Unlimited Access.
Finding Marseilles a very cinematic city with an edge, they wrote a crime script that made good use of the local locations.
