Greg Kinnear, Josh Lawson Join ANCHORMAN 2
The Oscar-nominated Greg Kinnear and House Of Lies star Josh Lawson have joined the star-studded cast for director Adam McKay's sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues, even though production on the film is already underway in Atlanta.
Like some of their other co-stars, they are also joining the cast in unspecified roles.
The sequel that McKay is currently shooting in Atlanta, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Will Ferrell, brings back Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, David Koechner as Champ Kind and Christina Applegate as Veronica Corningstone. The other newcomers are Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Meagan Good and Dylan Baker.
Ford will be playing a legendary news anchor, Wiig will reportedly play a love interest for Tamland, Marsden is said to be playing a rival anchor and nemesis to Ron Burgundy, and Good will be Burgundy's boss.
The movie will be a musical and the story is set in the late 1970s, as the Action 4 News team must learn to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of broadcast news, after the advent of the 24-hour news cycle.
Paramount will release Anchorman 2 on December 20th, 2013.
Lawson previously starred with Ferrell in last year's The Campaign, while Kinnear who recently appeared in Movie 43, doesn't get to flaunt his comedic prowess enough.
